Mezzi Paccheri is a shorter and refined variant of the famous, large Paccheri from the Campania region. This 'half' tube pasta combines a generous diameter with a shorter length, making it slightly lighter to eat and beautifully elegant when standing upright on the plate. It is an extremely versatile type of pasta in Italian cuisine: due to its large, open structure, the sauce flows effortlessly inside. This makes the pasta particularly suitable for rich sauces with tender pieces of meat (ragù), coarse vegetables or refined seafood. Additionally, this shape is very popular for briefly gratinée in the oven for a deliciously crispy crust.
With this Mezzi Paccheri, you bring home the pure, Italian gastronomy that Kelvini has exclusively selected for you. We only bring the very best from the absolute top segment to your kitchen, sourced from a small-scale producer that has been officially awarded in the Gambero Rosso – the prestigious Italian counterpart to the Michelin guide – within the top 100 of the best Italian pasta companies.
The base consists of 100% superior quality durum wheat, which is entirely cultivated under our own management on the sun-drenched fields in the hills of Campania (Km 0) and is kneaded with pure spring water. Because we swear by a purely natural cultivation process, the grain is guaranteed to be 100% free from pesticides and glyphosate. This results in an exceptionally high natural protein content and a deep, full grain flavour. Thanks to the authentic pressing through bronze molds (trafilata al bronzo) and an extremely patient, slow drying process at low temperature, the pasta retains its characteristic rough texture. This ensures maximum sauce absorption and an unparalleled al dente bite after a cooking time of 15 minutes.
