How do you prepare Kimbo Macinato Fresco in a moka?
The moka, also known as the Italian coffee pot, is one of the most beloved ways to brew Italian coffee at home.
Preparation
Fill the bottom reservoir of the moka with water up to just below the safety valve.
Fill the coffee filter with Kimbo Macinato Fresco.
Gently level the coffee without pressing down.
Screw the moka tightly closed.
Place the coffee pot over medium heat.
Remove the moka from the heat as soon as the coffee has almost completely brewed.
Stir the coffee gently and serve immediately.
Kelvini's tip: do not heat the coffee longer than necessary. This prevents an unnecessarily bitter taste.
Also lovely for an Italian tiramisu
For a good tiramisu, the quality of the coffee is at least as important as that of the mascarpone and the biscuits.
Kimbo Macinato Fresco is particularly suitable as a coffee base for this classic Italian dessert due to its strong flavour.
This is how you use the coffee in tiramisu:
Prepare approximately 250 ml of strong coffee with a moka.
Allow the coffee to cool completely.
Dip savoiardi or Pavesini briefly in the coffee.
Layer the tiramisu with mascarpone cream.
Finish with unsweetened cocoa, such as Perugina Cacao Amaro.
The combination of strong coffee, creamy mascarpone, and slightly bitter cocoa creates a nice balance.
