Urbani Tartufi Porcini & Truffle Sauce 80 g – Salsa ai Funghi Porcini e Tartufo
Two Italian delicacies in one jar
In Italian cuisine, porcini and truffle have been valued for generations for their rich aromas.
With Urbani Tartufi Salsa ai Funghi Porcini e Tartufo, you discover a special sauce where both ingredients come together.
This Italian specialty contains no less than 50% porcini (Boletus edulis and related species) and 3% finely chopped bianchetto truffle (Tuber albidum Pico).
The sauce is produced in Sant'Anatolia di Narco, in the Italian region of Umbria.
What makes this sauce special?
Unlike many traditional truffle sauces, this variant has a base of porcini instead of mushrooms.
Porcini, known in Italy as funghi porcini, has a deep, savoury flavour that beautifully complements the pronounced aromas of truffle.
The combination is enhanced with sunflower oil, parsley, garlic, pepper, and of course white truffle aroma.
What do you use porcini truffle sauce for?
Pasta ai Funghi Porcini e Tartufo: mix the sauce through warm tagliatelle or fettuccine with a bit of olive oil and pasta cooking water.
Risotto ai Porcini: add the sauce at the end to a creamy risotto.
Bruschetta: spread a thin layer over toasted Italian bread.
Roasted vegetables: combine with potatoes, courgette or grilled mushrooms.
Polenta: serve a small amount on soft, warm polenta.
Recipe: Tagliatelle with Porcini and Truffle
Ingredients for 2 people
200 g Italian tagliatelle
40 g Urbani Tartufi Salsa ai Funghi Porcini e Tartufo
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 small clove of garlic
Fresh parsley
Freshly ground black pepper
A little pasta cooking water
Preparation
Cook the tagliatelle according to the package.
Gently heat the olive oil with the clove of garlic.
Remove the garlic and add the porcini-truffle sauce.
Add a splash of pasta cooking water to loosen the sauce slightly.
Mix the warm tagliatelle with the sauce.

Kelvini's tip: do not let the truffle sauce simmer for long. Preferably add it at the end to preserve the aromas.
